A leading charitable organization in Ottawa is looking for a Personal Support Worker to provide care to residents in a Long Term Care home. The candidate will assist with personal care, dining needs, and ensure a safe environment. This casual position offers competitive compensation ranging from $29.06 to $29.39 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) provides Resident Centered Care, based on the principles of treating residents with kindness, honesty, sensitivity, comfort, discretion, respect, and understanding. The PSW remains cognitive that all interactions follow the principles of preserving resident dignity, supporting independence, individualized care/preferences, privacy, and do no harm. The PSW works with the Registered Nurses’ direction and supervision, follows care plans, documents and reports to ensure continuity, and safe care.
includes, but not limited to, ensuring residents are prepared for appointments, outings, medical visits, family visits, meetings, and on-site group activities
includes, but not limited to, ensuring a safe, clean (including washroom counters, commodes, toilet), uncluttered environment. Residents’ personal clothing, toiletries, linens, and equipment are stored appropriately in a timely fashion

The target hiring range for this position is $29.06 to $29.39 with a maximum of $29.71.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
