Personal Injury Lawyer

Our Ottawa client is seeking a Personal Injury Lawyer to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Knowledge in the areas of Tort and Accident Benefits and the ability to deal with complex matters
- The ability to handle interactions with clients and opposing counsel professionally
- Prepare and draft motion records, Statements of Claim, pre-trial/mediation memos, pleadings, affidavits of documents, Bills of Cost, Trial records, Claims, and other documents
- Prepare for examinations for discovery, case conferences, mediations, motions, appeals, pre-trial conferences, trials, mediations/arbitrations, and other hearings
- Manage the litigation matter lifecycle effectively, including settlements
- Excellent communication skills
Qualifications:
- Lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario; 2019 Call or earlier preferred
- Strong knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure
- Previous experience in plaintiff-side personal injury litigation is an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Document Management software, legal accounting software, and docketing
- Ability to collaborate closely with lawyers, clerks, and staff
- Ability to work independently on client files
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, counsel, and other legal professionals
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Superior attention to detail
