Personal Injury Lawyer

Salary is based on experience

Our Ottawa client is seeking a Personal Injury Lawyer to join their team.

Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge in the areas of Tort and Accident Benefits and the ability to deal with complex matters
  • The ability to handle interactions with clients and opposing counsel professionally
  • Prepare and draft motion records, Statements of Claim, pre-trial/mediation memos, pleadings, affidavits of documents, Bills of Cost, Trial records, Claims, and other documents
  • Prepare for examinations for discovery, case conferences, mediations, motions, appeals, pre-trial conferences, trials, mediations/arbitrations, and other hearings
  • Manage the litigation matter lifecycle effectively, including settlements
  • Excellent communication skills
Qualifications:
  • Lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario; 2019 Call or earlier preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Previous experience in plaintiff-side personal injury litigation is an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Document Management software, legal accounting software, and docketing
  • Ability to collaborate closely with lawyers, clerks, and staff
  • Ability to work independently on client files
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, counsel, and other legal professionals
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Superior attention to detail
