Our Ottawa client is seeking a Personal Injury Lawyer to join their team.
Responsibilities:
Knowledge in the areas of Tort and Accident Benefits and the ability to deal with complex matters
The ability to handle interactions with clients and opposing counsel professionally
Prepare and draft motion records, Statements of Claim, pre-trial/mediation memos, pleadings, affidavits of documents, Bills of Cost, Trial records, Claims, and other documents
Prepare for examinations for discovery, case conferences, mediations, motions, appeals, pre-trial conferences, trials, mediations/arbitrations, and other hearings
Manage the litigation matter lifecycle effectively, including settlements
Excellent communication skills
Qualifications:
Lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario; 2019 Call or earlier preferred
Strong knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure
Previous experience in plaintiff-side personal injury litigation is an asset
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Document Management software, legal accounting software, and docketing
Ability to collaborate closely with lawyers, clerks, and staff
Ability to work independently on client files
Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, counsel, and other legal professionals
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
