As a Performance Measurement Analyst, you will contribute to the overall success of Scotia Global Asset Management, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Calculate and validate performance returns for all funds, for eventual use in monthly measurement, monitoring, and performance reporting through enhanced PowerBI visuals and other reporting tools.
  • Participate in the implementation process and roll-out of Eagle performance measurement tool.
  • Produce performance reports that include analysis of returns, risk, added-value, and portfolio characteristics for internally managed and sub-advised portfolios.
  • Provide return data and portfolio characteristics information to institutional sales for purposes of marketing to institutional clients.
  • Prepare timely investment commentary and performance reporting for monthly and quarterly performance measurement reports on mutual funds, ETFs, Private Equity, Private Credit, Private Wealth, and Institutional Clients.
  • Collect and process investment and accounting data from various sources, ensure accuracy of data, investigate discrepancies, correct and confirm data.
  • Liaise with Portfolio Managers and Accounting to resolve any discrepancies in returns.
  • Investigate and document discrepancies such as unexplained market value changes, corporate actions, or incorrect feeds.
  • Test to ensure accuracy and completeness of information being used to calculate performance and benchmarks by leveraging systematic approaches such as SQL queries and other data processing systems.
  • Respond to regular and ad hoc requests and contribute to the development of automated, scalable data manipulation and reporting tools.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials and performance commentary for various audiences, including senior management.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective area in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles.
Qualifications

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an analytical discipline such as Mathematics, Commerce, Finance, or Economics is an asset.
  • Pursuing CFA designation (Level 1 completion).
  • CIPM/FRM would be an asset.
  • Previous experience within the mutual fund industry.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in performance reporting, analytics, or investment operations is preferred.
  • Experience using Power BI for reporting and dashboard development is strongly preferred.
  • Intermediate level Proficiency in SQL is required.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to data quality and accuracy.
  • Proactive problem-solver able to work independently and prioritize tasks with minimal oversight.
