This includes the identification and management of stakeholders, leadership development, organizational design, training, mergers and acquisitions, cultural assessment and development, talent management, workforce strategies, and planning and executing key communications.

The opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Manager for our People Consulting practice in the HR M&A Transactions team. This team services clients with a full range of hands‑on, operationally focused support and advice across the M&A transaction life cycle, for both buy and sell side M&A deals. We cover a wide range of HR operational aspects, including HR divestiture advisory services, carve‑out readiness and support, HR due diligence, HR Day 1 readiness, 100‑Day planning, integration process support, operating model and organizational design.

Your key responsibilities
  • Oversee and lead the client relationship and service delivery for all aspects of HR and Organizational Design services throughout the M&A transaction lifecycle, including:
    • HR due diligence and red flag reports
    • Day 1 HR function readiness
    • HR TSA services design and delivery
    • Operating model and organizational design
    • Talent planning and transitioning
    • HR project management support
  • Lead the strategic identification and mitigation of risks and issues related to HR integration/separation planning, timelines, and functional areas.
  • Exhibit deep expertise and thought leadership in the Human Resources functional area, having already achieved outstanding professional success and acting as a seasoned senior consulting professional with experience.
  • Drive business development initiatives by leveraging your understanding of Ernst & Young and its service lines, and actively identifying and presenting opportunities to serve clients.
  • Cultivate and maintain high‑level relationships with client executives, ensuring alignment with client business priorities, managing service expectations, and understanding industry‑specific performance drivers and business trends.
  • Lead and mentor client engagement teams, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality professional services across a diverse client base.
  • Oversee risk management, project economics, and escalations, ensuring effective planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Strategize and shape thought leadership by developing and enhancing collateral, tools, techniques, and methodologies to strengthen the HR M&A offering within the practice.
  • Foster a culture of continuous development by providing strategic guidance, constructive feedback, and training to team members, promoting an innovative and collaborative work environment.
  • Flexibility and ability to travel for client projects; willingness to travel on short notice to meet client needs.

To qualify for the role, you must have
  • Educated to degree level and/or Masters Degree.
  • Approximately 8‑10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in a number of the following M&A enablement areas: HR due diligence, Day 1 HR function readiness, operating model and organizational design, talent planning and transitioning, HR TSA services design and delivery.
  • Experience in complex transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, spin‑offs, carve‑outs.
  • Experience in selling and delivering projects that cover the full life‑cycle of assessment, design and implementation support.
  • Demonstrated record in driving revenue within existing clients and in developing new prospects at the "c" level of fortune 500 companies.
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines.
