Overview

We are currently expanding and actively seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our growing team in Saskatoon, SK, supporting our global payroll processing. Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the Payroll Administrator will collect, verify, and process payroll information, determine pay entitlements for employees, maintain accurate payroll records, and ensure timely and compliant payroll processing. This position will include the following responsibilities and day-to-day functions but is not limited to:

  • Prepare, verify, and process bi-weekly payroll, including regular pay, bonuses, vacation payouts, and statutory deductions
  • Complete, verify, and process T4s, ROEs, and other year-end reporting requirements
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation, including CRA remittances, CPP, EI, income tax, and other statutory deductions
  • Prepare payroll-related reports and supporting documentation for audits, reconciliations, and management review
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and provide timely and accurate information
  • Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies in collaboration with HR and Finance teams
  • Assist with other HR initiatives and responsibilities as assigned.

The successful candidate would ideally possess the following qualifications and experiences:

  • 1–3 years of experience processing full-cycle payroll
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) certification or ability to obtain certification is required
  • Experience with payroll systems and time & attendance software is preferred; Paycor, Dayforce, and Great Plains experience is an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of Canada payroll rules and compliance
  • Ability to handle confidential, sensitive, and personal information with professionalism
  • Strong organizational skills with superior attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (Pivot Table & VLOOKUP functions)
  • Accounting knowledge sufficient to post payroll journal entries and perform reconciliations is an asset
  • Knowledge of US payroll legislation is considered an advantage
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of accountability and adaptability
