  • Make corrections and provide detailed reports for improvements
  • Ensure corrections are made on next fit samples
  • Provide suppliers with final graded specs and comments for production

Job Description

As the Pattern Maker / Fit Technician, you will contribute to Laura’s success by designing and modifying patterns to produce an executable garment that is balanced and proportional to the sketch and meets Laura Canada standards. You will also provide suppliers with accurate comments on fit, pattern updates and graded specifications.


Responsibilities


  • Create initial pattern according to the Designer’s sketch and Laura Canada standards.

  • Prepare the specification sheets.

  • Lead sample fitting sessions on live models.

  • Make the appropriate corrections and provide suppliers with a detailed report of improvements to be made from first fit stage to the pre-production stage.

  • Ensure that the required corrections have been made on the next fit samples.

  • Provide suppliers with final graded specs and final comments for bulk production.


Qualifications


  • Fashion Design Diploma or equivalent diploma in pattern making and garment techniques

  • 3-5 years experience as Pattern Maker and Fit Technician for ladies’ apparel

  • A strong knowledge of garment construction, grading and industry standards

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of PAD system is an asset

  • Knowledge of CLO3D system is an asset

  • Knowledge of PLM system is an asset
