Job description
Position Summary

This position is responsible for mixing and serving of beverages, while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees and guests. Ensure compliance with Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) regulations and all applicable laws, policies, and procedures. Under the supervision of F&B Manager or Supervisor this role positively contributes to an entrepreneurial culture that is nimble, energized, growth oriented, to self-motivate and lead by example. Above all else, must be aligned with, and promote, Shorelines Casinos culture and philosophy of creating a great, memorable experience for our guests and colleagues.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Exceeds guest expectations by providing outstanding customer service
  • Helps create an engaged work environment by choosing positivity and fun, recognizing excellent peer performance, and by caring about and supporting our colleagues every day
  • Participates in the implementation of the departmental strategic plans
  • Informs guests of any daily specials
  • Selling food and beverage with an upbeat and positive attitude
  • Takes guests orders and makes recommendations
  • Prepares beverages
  • Serves the guests and checks to ensure satisfaction
  • Resolves guests issues or asks for management assistance if required
  • Presents bills upon request and takes payments
  • Cleans tables or counters and re-stocks bar when required
  • Covers other bartender’s sections if required
  • Liais es and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Contributes toward workplace health, safety, and wellness initiatives
  • Contributes to a team of engaged colleagues who care passionately about the business, site operations, and delivering a great guest experience
  • Anticipates operational and service issues before they escalate, trouble-shoots and resolves guest concerns before they are complaints.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed and assist other co-workers as needed
Education & Qualification Requirements

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Bartending and serving experience preferred
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.
  • Previous experience an asset
  • Smart Serve certification
  • Ability to obtain and maintain registration as a Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario
Working Environment Considerations

Regular casino environment, standing or walking for long periods of time, some exposure to noise and conflict, non-traditional work hours.
