Parks Labourer – Summer Employment Opportunity (May – September 2026)

The Town of Wasaga Beach is now accepting resumes for Summer Seasonal Employment as a Parks Labourer(s). This is your chance to work outdoors, gain hands‑on experience, and contribute to the beauty and functionality of our parks and community spaces.

Position Overview

As Parks Labourer(s), you will assist in maintaining parks, beachfront, sports fields, cemeteries, trails, and facilities, while also supporting scheduled summer special events. Duties include:

  • Operating pickup trucks and trailers
  • Using riding and push mowers, trimmers, and other garden maintenance equipment
  • Performing landscaping and horticultural tasks
  • Supporting beautification projects and event setups
Qualifications
  • Preference given to students enrolled full‑time in secondary or post‑secondary programs for the next academic year
  • Strong public relations and communication skills is an asset
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
  • Physically capable of performing manual labour and adaptable to all weather conditions
  • Experience in beach / park operations, horticulture, or landscaping is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of the Town of Wasaga Beach is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification preferred
  • Valid Class "G" Ontario driver’s license preferred
  • Ability to provide a satisfactory criminal record check and driver’s abstract upon hire
  • Must have CSA‑approved work boots (minimum 6" to cover the ankle)
Hourly Rate

$17.85 – $19.31 | 40 hours/week
