Overview

FYidoctors - Okotoks clinic is seeking an Optical Associate with exceptional skills and experience. This full-time role is 30-40 hours per week. The clinic is open Monday to Saturday, with a schedule that is Monday to Friday plus alternating Saturdays. If you have great retail customer service experience and are looking for your next role, we’d love to hear from you and have you join our team to make an impact on the lives of our patients every day.

You will play a critical role within FYidoctors and be crucial to our success by delivering world-class service to our patients. You’ll often be the first point of contact with the public and should bring a passion for people and a drive to deliver an exceptional customer experience. With your help, we’ll continue to positively impact our current patients’ health and well-being, as well as patients we haven’t yet met.

What Will You Be Doing?
  • Welcoming patients into the clinic, providing excellent customer service and fostering a positive patient experience
  • Educating clients about the best eyewear choices for their lifestyle, ensuring they receive the best value and quality
  • Informing patients about advances in corrective eyewear solutions and assisting with frame selection to suit aesthetic and performance needs
  • Interpreting optical prescriptions as written by an optometrist
  • Performing frame and facial measurements to ensure correct fit and positioning of new eyewear, and performing repairs and adjustments for returning patients
  • Placing contact lens orders and assisting with fittings
  • Communicating with patients in person, by phone and by email
  • Billing the patient, their medical service provider and other third parties
  • Managing appointment bookings, prescription printouts and billing and payments
What Do You Bring?
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing, preferably retail environment (preferred)
  • Previous optical experience is considered an asset
  • Passionate about customer service
  • Comfort with using technology and computers
  • Great communicator who can provide exceptional patient care
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
