Atlantic Towing Limited is a well established and growing marine transportation company with a diverse fleet of Harbour, Coastal/Deep Sea Tugs, as well as Offshore Supply Vessels with locations in Saint John, New Brunswick, Halifax, Nova Scotia and St. John's, Newfoundland. We are currently seeking applications for the position of Ports & Coastal Operations Manager to join our Saint John operation.

Overview

Job posting details: Atlantic Towing is seeking a Ports & Coastal Operations Manager to lead the operations for the Ports & Coastal Fleet, manage performance and customer relationships, and promote a safe work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the operations for Ports & Coastal Fleet including performance management, customer management, communication to all stakeholders, and promoting a safe work environment.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Port & Coastal Operations, plan and prepare strategic and annual budgets for the Port & Coastal fleet.
  • Regularly review forecasts and financials for the Port & Coastal fleet in relation to annual budgets.
  • Support and actively participate in initiatives and daily management for the Port & Coastal fleet, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Monitor regulatory developments in health, safety and environmental protection in collaboration with the QHSS Department to ensure compliance.
  • Plan and organize the fleet in accordance with statutory, regulatory and classification society requirements, company policies and commitments; liaise with other departments, regulatory bodies, classification societies and customers.
  • Monitor the execution of planned maintenance programs on board vessels in conjunction with the Asset Management Team.
  • Ensure high employee engagement within the area of responsibility and address concerns promptly.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar Operations leadership position or senior marine professional position.
  • Completion of post secondary education or the equivalent in experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and manage deadlines and priorities; well organized and comfortable working with financials and data.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to positively influence others by developing cooperative networks and building strong partnerships at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • High commitment to customer service and safe working practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
