Job summary

Position

Position: Custodian
Program: Various sites in Vancouver, Richmond, Chilliwack, and Surrey
Position Type: Casual
Hourly Range: $23.42 – $25.00 (BCGEU, Grid 3)
Start Date: As soon as possible

Responsibilities
  • Perform basic janitorial, maintenance and repair duties for the program facility (e.g., unplug sinks and toilets, repair small holes in walls/ceilings, touch up paint, check oil and fluid levels, replace tap washers, light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, and door handles).
  • Clean external areas and disinfect building areas; clean, wash and disinfect interior spaces; assist staff with preparing rooms for new tenants (including pest control).
  • Perform basic security duties such as patrolling buildings and grounds; interact with and take direction from the Operations Manager or designate as needed.
Qualifications

Minimum education and experience include:

  • Grade 12
  • Certificate in First Aid
  • Building Service Worker Certificate
  • Recent related experience of 1 year
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
