Location: Jasper, AB

Pay: $18–$22 per hour

Job type: Temporary, Seasonal, Part-time

Expected start date: 2025-04-01

Contract length: 6 months

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week

Responsibilities
  • Handling and round pen training young horses; ground work, halter breaking and saddling
  • Assist with hoof trimming and horse shoeing
  • Assist with guided trail rides
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience starting colts and working young horses
  • Strong knowledge of horse behaviour, psychology, and training methods
  • Experience with ranch work, including fencing, equipment maintenance, and other tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, work in extreme weather conditions, and perform manual labour
Qualifications
  • Previous colt starting and horse training experience, references required
  • First aid and CPR certification
  • Alberta Driver's License
  • Hinton Alberta Area Resident

Language requirement: French not required.
