A regional health authority in Kelowna seeks a part-time Occupational Therapist to provide comprehensive therapy services. The ideal candidate will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on client assessment and promoting independence. A relief (temporary) part-time 0.8fte Occupational Therapist opportunity is available in the Community Seniors Mental Health team in Kelowna. This position requires a valid BC driver's license and a vehicle for work purposes. Shift times are 08:30 to 16:30, and days of work are: Monday through Thursday.
The occupational therapist works independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team providing inpatient, outpatient, residential and community occupational therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education of residents/clients/patients (the client) and/or their caregivers to promote functional independence and enable the client to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes. The occupational therapist contributes to the organization and the overall goals of the department; participates in departmental/program quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education; and provides work direction to the rehabilitation assistants working with the rehabilitation team in regards to transfer of function.
