Overview

Medcor is currently looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in our employer-based clinic in Waterloo, IA. The work environment is in a manufacturing facility focusing on occupational health and acute/episodic care. This role is a PRN, day shift position (as needed).

Since this is on an as needed basis there are no guaranteed hours. If you have the availability to pick up an occasional shift we invite you to apply.

Responsibilities
  • The NP/PA will provide excellent primary clinical care in an occupational and urgent care health clinic.
  • Collaborate with medical and operational leadership at Medcor, other Medcor advocates, and client contacts.
  • Work closely with on-site medical staff and focus on team care across the Medcor operation for the client site.
  • The clinic provides diagnosis and treatment of workers compensation injuries and illnesses, urgent care, surveillance and regulatory exams, and preventative services; work with a Medcor oversight physician and Medcor Clinical Affairs and Operations.
Typical Day
  • Provide superior clinical care and customer service to Medcor’s client and employees.
  • Treat injuries and illnesses following Evidence Based Medicine standards.
  • DOT examinations.
  • Return to work evaluations for non-work and work-related injuries.
  • Build and maintain internal team relationships.
  • Collaborate with client professionals in health, safety and environmental practices.
  • Collaborate with client HR and benefits professionals on clinical issues.
  • Support client’s wellness and preventative programs.
  • Document and manage information using EMR and other tools.
  • Patient education and coaching regarding medical conditions, treatment options and healthy behaviors.
You Must
  • Have a valid unrestricted licensure.
  • Have current DEA & BLS certifications.
  • DOT certification (may be obtained within 6 months of hire).
  • Have strong computer skills and familiarity with EMR software.
  • Have a positive and outgoing personality and be a collaborative team player.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with patients, clients and colleagues.
  • Be willing to go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service.
  • Be comfortable working in an on-site clinic environment.
  • Have occupational health experience.
It’s a Plus If
  • You have previous work-site clinic experience.
