Job summary

A regional health authority in Manitoba is looking for a registered nurse with at least five years of recent nursing experience. The position requires expertise in advanced nursing care and benefits from wound care management experience. The successful candidate must possess a Master’s degree in Nursing and current registration with CRNM. Position Overview
Experience
  • Minimum five (5) years recent nursing experience (program specific) with a related clinical population combining in-depth nursing theory, clinical practice, consultation, education and research with the delivery of health care services required.
  • Experience in the following wound care management an asset (ex. Wound Care/Diabetic Foot patient population/Indigenous patient population; Remote Northern Health Nursing/Dialysis Patient Population; Vascular Surgery Nursing; WRHA/SWAT (Skin/Wound/Assessment/Treatment) Team Wound Care; Performing & interpreting Ankle Brachial Index (ABIs).
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Current RN (EP) registration with CRNM required.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Nurse Practitioner Stream or equivalent educational preparation as approved by CRNM required.
  • Education in wound care management an asset (ex. ET Nurse/Wound Care Certificate, Wounds Canada Wound Care Certificates, Nursing Foot Care Course Certificate, IIWCC Wound Care Course).

** Must be eligible for academic appointment with the University of Manitoba.

SPECIAL TRAINING/SKILLS:
Advanced nursing care knowledge related to health assessment, diagnostics, pharmacotherapeutics and invasive and minor surgical procedures required.

Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Current CRNM registration required.
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of common software including word processing, email and internet applications required.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
