A healthcare organization in Winnipeg seeks a qualified nurse for the Renal Advanced Nursing department. Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview
Experience
  • Must have a minimum of four years recent related nursing experience with demonstrated competency in a defined area of clinical nursing practice.
  • Previous experience in teaching, education and program development and evaluation is preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Master’s degree in Nursing is preferred (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
  • Successful Completion of Manitoba Nephrology Nursing Course (MNNC) or equivalent is required.
  • Certificate or certification in a related specialty area preferred.

Note: In certain circumstances, certification as an instructor in a specialty training course (e.g. ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) may be stated as a requirement.

Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Must be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Manitoba (C.R.N.M.).
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
  • Current CPR (Targeted Responder) certification required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in complex situations.
  • Evidence of knowledge of the principles of adult learning and teaching strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to function creatively and independently.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development.
  • Initiates and supports change.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Competency with word processing and presentation programs, required.
