Job description

Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Health Services, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing services for patients with complex and unpredictable health needs. Responsibilities include independent nursing care, administration of prescribed treatments, leadership within the healthcare team, and coordination of patient care and discharge. The nurse demonstrates commitment to the values and goals of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and Concordia Hospital.

Experience
  • Current perioperative nursing experience required; preference for demonstrated recent perioperative experience.
Education
  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program required.
  • Post-graduate perioperative nursing course and CNA Perioperative Nursing Certification preferred.
  • Completion of AORN Periop 101 online course or equivalent preferred; applicants without prior OR training must complete it within three months of employment.
Certification and Licensure
  • Maintain registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
  • CPR certification in accordance with employer policy.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Knowledge of nursing standards, ethics, legislation, and healthcare policies.
  • Effective communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, adapt, and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with computers and standard software.
Physical Requirements
  • Moderate to heavy physical effort required.
