Under the direction and guidance of a preceptor, the goal of rehabilitation nursing is to assist individuals with disability and/or chronic illness to attain and maintain maximum function. The rehabilitation staff nurse assists clients in adapting to an altered lifestyle, while providing a therapeutic environment for clients' and their families' development. The rehabilitation staff nurse designs and implements treatment strategies that are based on scientific nursing theory related to self‑care and that promote physical, psychological, and spiritual health.

Qualifications

• Current and valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license. Must obtain California RN license by March 2026.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program.
