The Network Manager plays a key role in guiding the team responsible for maintaining a reliable, high-performing corporate network and modern collaboration environment. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Network and Security, this role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who brings strong operational focus, deep networking expertise, and a commitment to ongoing improvement and security-first thinking.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and support a team of network professionals, including administrators and analysts.
- Oversee scheduling, performance discussions, team development, and assist with after-hours support when required.
- Step in proactively to address technical challenges and assist with issue resolution.
- Ensure network and collaboration systems are properly deployed, maintained, and optimized across all company distribution locations.
- Track and assess system performance to maintain dependable network operations.
- Review, maintain, and enhance procedural and operational practices to support consistent, efficient network performance.
- Keep current with security standards and ensure that practices, tools, and configurations align with risk-mitigation expectations.
- Act as the primary point of escalation for complex network incidents or outages.
- Support project delivery by ensuring new solutions are integrated effectively into existing network and telecom environments.
- Participate in change management activities as part of the Change Advisory Board.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related field. Industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Network+) are considered valuable.
- Roughly 10 years of network infrastructure experience, with at least 5 years spent leading technical teams.
- Strong understanding of technologies from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto, as well as experience with WAN, LAN, and cloud networking, particularly Azure. Familiarity with ITIL is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to guide and motivate a team while maintaining alignment with key business and technical priorities.
- Hands-on experience managing IT projects using recognized methodologies.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Clear, effective communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical topics for a variety of audiences.
- A problem-solver who applies both established practices and creative thinking to deliver complete, effective solutions.
- Willingness to provide extended or after-hours support when needed.
