Job description
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in Network Engineering, at least 5 years focused on Fortinet environments, including FortiSIEM and FortiSOAR.
  • Certification: Fortinet NSE 4 (Network Security Professional) or equivalent Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP).
  • Technical proficiency in FortiOS (firmware upgrades, CLI troubleshooting, and debug commands).
  • SD-WAN implementation and management.
  • TCP/IP, STP, ARP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience in racking, stacking, and configuring physical appliances (from 60F to 1000 series gates).
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the configuration, deployment, and management of FortiGate Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), FortiSwitches, and FortiAPs in a distributed setup.
  • Design and enhance complex LAN/WAN/SD-WAN infrastructures to guarantee high availability, redundancy, and minimal latency.
  • Maintain strict security protocols, including VPN configurations (IPsec/SSL) and intrusion prevention systems (IPS).
  • Utilize FortiSIEM and FortiSOAR for alert monitoring.
  • Employ FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer for centralized provisioning, logging, and reporting.
  • Leverage Tenable and Sophos EDR for vulnerability scanning.
  • Manage complex routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and VLAN segmentations.
  • Serve as the final point of escalation for intricate network incidents, conducting in-depth root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level network administrators.
  • Review alerts to distinguish between false positives and actual threats.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced certifications such as NSE 7 (Network Security Architect) or NSE 8 (Network Security Expert).
  • Experience in connecting on-premise Fortinet gear to cloud environments (Azure/AWS/Google Cloud).
  • Background in migrating from Cisco, Juniper or Palo Alto to Fortinet solutions.

  • Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Supportive role to the Account Manager with sales assistance.
  • Meticulous documentation practices (keeping track of topologies and runbooks).
  • Composure during network outages or security incidents.
