Location: HK - Toronto

Shift: Monday to Friday, 7AM to 3PM or 3PM to 11PM

Position Summary:

The Mould Maintenance Technician will focus on conducting preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, cleaning, and storage of all onsite injection and compression molds. The role emphasizes maintaining molds to facilitate production requirements and adhere to manufacturer specifications.

Principal Accountabilities:
  1. Identify and resolve root causes of injection and compression mold machine issues.
  2. Remove, install, set up, and hand over fully functional injection and compression machines as per schedule.
  3. Operate mobile material handling equipment for positioning machinery and parts during installation, setup, and repair.
  4. Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair all molds.
  5. Use tools safely to assemble/disassemble molds and operate machine tools.
  6. Perform preventive maintenance, including stripping down, cleaning, replacing parts, and storing molds and cold runners.
  7. Collaborate with other employees during plant shutdowns and machinery downtimes to restore operations efficiently.
  8. Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to safety policies and practices.
  9. Support and adhere to the 5S program.
  10. Ensure proper disposal of chemicals as per labels.
  11. Catalog and inventory mold parts and tooling.
  12. Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Strong mechanical skills and aptitude.
  • Troubleshooting skills for molding machines.
  • Knowledge of injection molding machines.
  • Experience in rubber or plastics manufacturing (preferred).
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.

Hourly Rate: $33.50/hour
