Job description
Overview

As a Mooring Master, you will work closely with Operations and Ship Masters to perform safe and efficient berthing and unberthing activities while overseeing discharge operations on both Crude Oil Tankers and LNG tankers. Your goal will be to ensure that all vessel movements and cargo discharge operations are completed safely, smoothly, and in full alignment with company procedures and industry best practices. Your success will come from effectively coordinating with ship personnel, maintaining strong situational awareness during terminal operations, and consistently demonstrating sound judgment and technical expertise throughout all berthing, unberthing, and discharge activities.

Your Responsibilities
  • Understands and adheres to terminal manuals and regulations
  • Schedule & execute ship operations based on priority and weather
  • Monitors and inspects conditions of Terminal mooring equipment
  • Document and report operations
  • Work with port users and regulators to ensure a safe reliable operation
  • Plan support services for operations

Your Experience
  • A valid Canadian Master Mariner or Master Foreign Going Certificate
  • A minimum of 2 years experience as a Senior Deck Officer serving as Chief Officer or Master of a Tanker
  • Oil Tanker Endorsement
  • Crude Oil Wash experience or certificate
  • Previous experience as a Mooring Master is an asset but not essential
