About The Job

In accordance with the vision and values of the organization, the Medical Laboratory Assistant IV supervises Medical Laboratory Assistants and other designated staff by performing duties such as scheduling and coordinating work assignments, evaluating employee performance and determining related training and orientation requirements. This position will also be responsible for taking blood from patients, collecting and preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, performing tests such as urine analysis and glucose monitoring and operating related equipment.

East Kootenay Regional Hospital is a 75‑bed acute care hospital with a medium‑size Laboratory offering Core Lab, Microbiology, Histology, Pathology, collections and accession services. It is considered a regional referral site for selected testing and there are 30 Medical Laboratory Technologists and 25 Medical Laboratory Assistants employed in various disciplines.

This is a Permanent Full Time (1.00) opportunity.
