We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to join our growing team. Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Mechanical Superintendent, in conjunction with the Site Superintendent, is responsible for the day-to-day management of the construction site, focusing on the mechanical scopes of work.

This position is located in Kakabeka, ON.

What you will be doing:
  • Initiate, coordinate, direct, and schedule site personnel to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Manage scheduling and planning for the project.
  • Assist with the optimization of mechanical and electrical design drawings.
  • Assist in the preparation and negotiation of mechanical and electrical subcontracts.
  • Implement and manage the Bird Safety Program; perform regular hazard analyses and toolbox meetings.
  • Ensure sufficient manpower is provided to achieve safety, productivity, and quality objectives.
  • Prepare overall work plans and schedules in conjunction with the Site Superintendent and Project Manager.
  • Review and assist regarding the quality assurance and control plan.
  • Monitor site instructions and change notices, making adjustments as required.
  • Assist with commissioning, building turnover, and closeout documentation.
What are we looking for:
  • 5-10 years of experience in the construction industry working with contractors in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and their integration with construction elements. Experience with industrial and process mechanical, electrical, and controls is considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to supervise, coordinate, and schedule construction activities, consistently completing projects on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated competence in safety, workforce management, project execution, cost control, quality, and administration.
  • A strong leader and problem-solver, capable of building trust with clients, subcontractors, and team members to deliver outstanding project results.
  • Local market construction experience and willingness to travel within Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Northwest Ontario, with potential for temporary relocation.
  • Knowledge of construction and building techniques.
  • Gold Seal, LEED, and Sustainability Training are assets.
  • Experience using BIM models is an asset.
