Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed Mechanical Engineer or P.Eng with strong experience in HVAC, thermal management, and mechanical systems design for data centers and critical facilities. The ideal candidate will hold or be eligible for US PE licensure and be qualified for the TN visa program. This role requires hands‑on expertise in mechanical design, system integration, and regulatory compliance within Texas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed mechanical designs and specifications for HVAC, chilled water, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH units, fire protection, and plumbing systems for data centers.
  • Lead thermal and fluid dynamics analyses to ensure optimal cooling efficiency and redundancy.
  • Collaborate with electrical, civil, and structural engineers to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly with the overall facility design.
  • Ensure designs meet local, state, and national codes, including ASHRAE, NEC, and Texas‑specific regulations.
  • Prepare and review construction documents, drawings, and submittals; participate in quality control and site inspections.
  • Manage vendor selection and coordinate with contractors for mechanical system installation and commissioning.
  • Engage directly with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver on project goals and client satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, P.Eng license from a Canadian regulatory body.
  • Eligibility or possession of a Texas PE license is strongly preferred. Candidates without US licensure but with Canadian P.Eng and TN visa eligibility are considered.
  • 5+ years of direct experience in mechanical engineering design/project delivery for data centers, mission‑critical facilities, or large commercial HVAC projects.
  • Expertise in mechanical systems for thermal management, cooling distribution, and energy‑efficient design.
  • Proficiency with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and CFD or similar modeling tools.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory codes, including ASHRAE, NFPA, and applicable Texas building codes.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with data center certifications (Uptime Institute, LEED, ENERGY STAR).
  • Project management experience and client‑facing consulting exposure.
