Mechanical Engineer

Tenova Goodfellow Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering Department team in Mississauga. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical design and analysis. This role involves working on innovative projects that integrate mechanical engineering principles with advanced industrial processes. TGI is part of a global organization that supplies advanced technologies, products, and services to the metal and mining industries. As a world leader in providing advanced process control technologies, TGI focuses on improving energy efficiency in combustion intensive processes by using its proprietary extractive & optical sensor technology developed in co‑operation with its strategic partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and optimize mechanical components and systems for industrial applications and advanced process control technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate mechanical solutions into electrolysis‑based processes.
  • Create and test prototypes, ensuring they meet design specifications and performance requirements.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, stress analysis, and performance evaluations of mechanical designs.
  • Work with product engineering, production, and R&D teams to develop new products or enhance existing ones.
  • Manage mechanical engineering projects.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation of design specifications, test plans, drawings, reports, etc.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or advanced training preferred.
  • Established mechanical skills and keen aptitude for troubleshooting.
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and other design tools.
  • Proficient in FE analysis.
  • Experience in the metal and mining industry an asset.
  • Familiarity with electrolysis processes or related electrochemical systems is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to travel internationally is a must.
  • Clean driver’s license and ability to travel cross‑border as needed.
  • Strong understanding of materials, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a team‑oriented environment.
