Looking for a Lead Mechanical Commissioning role? Do you have the experience to lead the commissioning process for plumbing, piping, boiler, and chiller systems across ICI projects?

Our client is a highly respected mechanical contractor who is looking to add a Commissioning Lead to join their plumbing and piping team, specializing in Industrial, Commercial, Institutional projects. This role will lead the commissioning of plumbing, piping, boiler, and chiller systems on a diverse range of projects—from multi-million-dollar new construction developments to smaller tenant retrofits. You will ensure that all mechanical systems operate efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with design specifications and industry standards. Additionally, you will build and manage a dedicated commissioning team to support project delivery and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commissioning process for plumbing, piping, boiler, and chiller systems across ICI projects, ensuring systems meet design intent, manufacturer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, implement, and oversee commissioning plans, procedures, and testing protocols tailored for mechanical systems on both large-scale projects and tenant retrofits.
• Perform comprehensive system testing, verification, balancing, and fine-tuning to confirm operational efficiency and reliability.
• Identify, document, and manage deficiencies; coordinate with project teams and subcontractors to implement corrective actions swiftly.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to maintain seamless communication and coordination throughout commissioning.
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and contracts to prepare detailed commissioning scopes and checklists.
• Manage commissioning documentation, including test reports, punch lists, and system verification records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure all commissioning activities adhere to company safety policies and industry regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and support during installation, startup, and project close-out phases.
• Drive continuous improvement of commissioning processes and team performance by leveraging lessons learned and best practices.
