Position Summary

As an Operator-4th Class Power Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring a hot oil heater, handling off‑loading and loading of trucks at the plant, controlling tank heat using hot oil heaters, manufacturing asphaltic products, performing preventative maintenance, and carrying out other general duties at the McAsphalt Clairmont Terminal. You will follow all standard operating procedures and policies established by the McAsphalt Operations department.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Power engineer education with a valid 4th‑class steam ticket.
  • Previous experience with high‑pressure boilers is a strong asset.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in small team(s).
  • Reliable transportation to and from work in a timely manner.
  • Capability to work effectively under pressure, being responsible, resourceful and autonomous.
  • Ability to work outdoors, at height and in all environments.
  • Experience with pumps, piping, heat tracing, and hot oil heaters will be considered an asset.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communications in English with a strong interpersonal attitude.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel at an intermediate level with strong organizational skills.
  • Lastly, a good sense of humor will also be a great asset.
