Job description
Job Purpose

The Supervisor manages the day-to-day operations of material movement and stockroom activities along with providing leadership to the stockroom and material handling team.

Essential Functions
  • Optimize material flow and delivery using MRP, planning, forecasting tools, and material pull system principles to support customer requirements.
  • Set safety stock levels and maintain accurate item master data (lead times, lot sizes), PFEP for new model launches, and effective materials planning policies (e.g., time fences).
  • Maintain accurate inventory control using min-max, cycle counting, quarterly inventory projections, and metrics such as inventory turns, delivery performance, and productivity against targets.
  • Serve as the ERP system facility “super user,” including report writing, data extraction, and training of users.
  • Design and manage inbound transportation schedules, dock utilization, manpower efficiencies, and material flow/traceability using scanning technology and visual management.
  • Manage engineering change processes to ensure effective communication and achievement of breakpoints.
  • Resolve material shortages, overflow situations, and record discrepancies through root-cause analysis and continuous improvement documentation.
  • Establish, monitor, and drive KPIs across facilities; perform layered audits, close open items, and document controlled processes with change management follow-up.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements and all safety, health, and environmental regulations with a goal of zero incidents.
  • Lead, train, mentor, and develop materials staff at all levels, demonstrating strong leadership and team-building skills.
Experience / Training / Education

Required: Post‑Secondary Education with a minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain or operations within a high‑mix/low‑volume manufacturing environment, and a minimum of 4 years of supervision/management of others.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, experience with ERP systems, Epicor in particular.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Proficient in third‑party services including value‑added assembly, sequencing, kitting, repack, de‑consolidation, and bulk and small lot metering.
  • Lean material management principles utilizing consignment, pull systems, level loading, inventory control, JIT and MRP; purchase parts and contract management experience.
  • Strong skills in managing salaried and hourly employees and processes.
  • Strong customer‑interfacing skills.
  • Strong computer, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and follow‑up skills.
  • Exceptional time management, program management, and organization skills.
  • Strong kitting and material presentation experience.

The salary range for this role is $85,000 to $95,000 CAD. The final compensation offer may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, and location. We offer competitive pay, paid time off, and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, life insurance, and an RRSP.

Physical and Environmental Elements

Environment includes a non‑migratory job with moderate noise levels and average controlled temperatures. Most of the time there is no direct contact hazardous surroundings.
