A healthcare organization in Manitoba seeks a Material Handler to manage inventory and supply delivery within a hospital. The candidate should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and experience in logistics is preferred. A Grade 12 education and proficiency in SAP are required. The role demands physical endurance and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
The Material Handler will provide a multifunctional role within Distribution & Logistics performing a variety of duties to ensure the facility acquires and maintains the required supply, delivery and inventory management within a computerized environment (i.e., SAP). The incumbent must be an effective communicator (verbal and written), provide excellent customer service, and demonstrate the ability to work closely and cooperatively with others within the hospital setting. Examples of tasks include picking items from the warehouse, operating a tugger, putting away supplies on the wards, and delivery of non-SCM items such as specimens, medical records, or distribution of linen. A Material Handler should have strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and manage time efficiently.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
