The Role

As Tug Master, you will have full command responsibility for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of Svitzer vessels engaged in harbour assistance and near‑coastal towage.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Conducting harbour, terminal, and near‑coastal towage operations safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures
  • Leading by example to promote a strong onboard safety culture at all times
  • Ensuring the vessel is maintained to the required operational and safety standards
  • Managing vessel administration, including safety, compliance, and operational reporting
  • Working closely with Marine Managers, Harbour Pilots, and operational stakeholders to ensure effective planning and execution of towage activities
Who We’re Looking For
  • Master
  • Proven experience on ASD propulsion
  • Harbour / Terminal towage experience – essential
  • Near‑coastal or sea towage experience – essential
  • Right to Work in the UK – essential
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills
  • Confident with vessel administration and computer‑based systems
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Valid ENG1 and Certificate of Competency (to be provided with application)
