Marmot Basin Jasper Alberta Rentals & Retail Supervisor

Position Summary: The Rental & Retail Supervisor oversees the day-to‑day operations of the Rental Shop, Retail and Town Stores, Online Retail, Staff Scheduling and Guest Services. This position plays a key leadership role in staff supervision, customer service excellence, inventory management, and operational efficiency. Reporting to the Rental & Retail Manager and Director of Skiing, the Supervisor ensures alignment with departmental goals and service standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor Rental & Retail Staff across all locations.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and performance reviews.
  • Coordinate scheduling and shift planning to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Foster a positive team culture with a focus on accountability, collaboration, and guest experience.
  • Address and resolve staff performance issues and customer escalations professionally.
  • Oversee daily payroll review and approval in collaboration with the Manager.
  • Ensure smooth daily operations in the Rental Shop, Town Store, and on‑mountain retail spaces.
  • Oversee inventory control: ordering, receiving, pricing, merchandising, and loss prevention.
  • Monitor the use and maintenance of rental equipment and coordinate repair schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols (WHMIS, WCB) and operational procedures.
  • Optimize sales floor organization and product presentation in line with seasonal trends.
  • Maintain high service standards and model exemplary guest interactions.
  • Support the team in resolving guest concerns and troubleshooting transactions or bookings.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of product movement, rentals, and inventory reports.
  • Maintain and update documentation including SOPs, training manuals, and policy references.
Position Requirements
  • English Fluency Level required for position.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in retail, rentals, or hospitality.
  • Proficient in POS systems such as RTP, Inntopia, Aspenwear.
  • Experience with inventory management, staff scheduling, and sales analysis.
  • Ski/snowboard equipment knowledge and rental operations experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and team communication platforms.
