OVERVIEW

Alberta Blue Cross® currently has an opportunity for a Market Intelligence Analyst. This role works with a team whose purpose is to source, extract, and compile relevant insights, trends, and scenarios from large volumes of qualitative and quantitative data, with a focus on data‑driven storytelling. The Market Intelligence Analyst will be creating and presenting reports to identify trends through visualizations, sense‑making, and correlative insights to drive value across multiple internal lines of business. Projects will include driving customer, competitor, product, pricing, healthcare ecosystem, and brand insights for the organization to enable informed decision‑making, as well as providing market intelligence insights as part of cross‑functional strategic planning.

This role will have you working in a hybrid work style arrangement. While you may be working remotely most of the time, there will be ample opportunity for face‑to‑face interactions, external and in‑office meetings, team events and other meaningful connections.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Research market trends and the competitive landscape to generate market‑leading insights; synthesize complex findings into clear narratives and deliver compelling reports and presentations using strong critical thinking and storytelling skills.
  • Support operational areas of group and individual health, dental, life and disability insurance lines of business.
  • Collaborate on industry‑wide reporting and analysis by sourcing and contributing information.
  • Create dashboards and presentation decks with a strong focus on creating insights that guide internal teams such as product, marketing, and sales.
  • Adhere to privacy and legal policies regarding data collection and usage.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the Market Intelligence team to come up with innovative solutions to data collection, automation, and narrative development.
WHAT YOU WILL HAVE
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, Statistics and or Math.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate the story behind the data.
  • A self‑starter with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a business environment.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of research methodology, data analysis, and project management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products, in particular Excel.
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills, including the ability to work autonomously.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of data management applications such as SAS or SQL, data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau, and other Power Platform products such as Power Automate is an asset, but not required.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint is an asset, but not required.
