The location in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, is seeking talent to fill the position of Manager, Procurement. This job is full-time permanent.

Overview

Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Procurement, you will be part of a motivated team whose members support each other to exceed expectations. You will be responsible for strategic procurement management and supplier relations to ensure compliance, cost optimization, and operational performance, while acting as a change agent to improve processes.

  • Lead requirements, specifications, standards, and volume needs for goods and services.
  • Prepare requests for quotations and develop procurement strategies.
  • Create communication plans, lead implementation, and establish agreements.
  • Negotiate with internal and external partners/suppliers to reduce procurement costs.
  • Ensure consistent achievement of net value and resolve operational issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies.
  • Mentor and train buyers and strategic suppliers.
  • Act as a change agent to deliver optimal value to operations.
  • Define, measure, and improve performance indicators: on-time delivery, order accuracy, return/claim rates, cost reductions, and penalties.
  • Manage disputes and escalations with suppliers; implement corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal management skills.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed expectations while delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
  • Self-confidence, high motivation, and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, in teams, and at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in IT and a keen interest in working with systems.
Your profile
  • Bilingual French and English (Required for all Corporate Positions)
  • University degree in business, engineering, or any other field related to supply chain management.
  • At least 10 years of experience, including direct experience in pulp and paper mills or operations in a related field.
  • Experience in procurement and inventory management, preferably in an SAP environment.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience as a strategic procurement manager (or equivalent), preferably in the pulp and paper or process industry.
