About the Role
The Manager, Pricing, Retail Deposits contributes to the overall success of Retail Deposits in Canada, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. The role also ensures all activities are compliant with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Deposits Exception Pricing Desk and the SmartBot 2.0 tool, supporting across Canadian Retail Banking and Advisor Deposit Services channels.
- Promote a culture of partnership by working with the frontline in providing prompt and professional advice.
- Monitor, track and provide key insights to the Pricing committee on exception trends and competitor offers.
- Assist in managing the GIC Exception Inbox to review the exception cases for redeeming non‑redeemable GICs and GIC Backdating.
- Assist the pricing optimization and execution of approved pricing changes across the Retail products and Advisor Deposit Services in a timely manner to provide positive customer experiences, prevent adverse impact to our P&L, and ensure no regulatory breaches.
- Recommend opportunities to improve our exception policy and increase operational efficiency by enhancing processes and tools.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day‑to‑day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day‑to‑day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Qualifications
- Related post‑secondary education / MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- Solid knowledge of GIC products and services, including competitive products.
- Experience in Pricing is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and networking skills.
- Good analytical and market research skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel.

Working Conditions
- This role is located in our downtown Toronto, ON office location. Non‑standard hours may be required to meet business objectives including Saturdays and evenings.
