Job description

Reporting to the Director of Payroll, the Payroll Manager will oversee the payroll function supporting over 28,000 employees across Canada. You’ll lead a team in a dynamic environment, ensuring all payroll activities are processed accurately and on time.

About the role: Payroll Manager

As the Payroll Manager, you will plan payroll activities, allocate resources according to operational priorities, and supervise and develop your team to meet organizational goals. You’ll review and approve payroll data, ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations, and handle year-end processing including tax slips and audit preparation.

You will also identify and resolve payroll-related issues, collaborate on management reporting, and contribute to strategic departmental initiatives that evolve our payroll information systems.

Requirements / Skills
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification from the National Payroll Institute
  • 3–5 years’ experience managing large-scale payroll operations
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of federal and provincial payroll regulations
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Bilingual in French and English, both written and verbal
  • Experience with Dimensions (UKG) system is an asset
