Position Overview

This role is based at our Yonge Eglinton Centre location. The Project Manager will lead, plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines, defined scope and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project\'s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

Responsibilities
  • Define project scope, deliverables, milestones, resources and budget that support business goals in collaboration with project sponsor, senior management and stakeholders.
  • Establish effective communication standards with the project team and leadership; conduct project kick-offs to set expectations and success criteria and provide regular progress updates in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis; build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Develop a clear resource plan, working with team leaders across departments or third-party partners to acquire, assign and manage the team. Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Plan and develop the detailed WBS, monitor and track variance using appropriate tools; resources, effort, milestones and deliverables, critical path, dependencies and budget.
  • Provide risk management to mitigate known problems and resolve issues utilizing the defined governance model.
  • Proactively manage potential changes, employing change request management as needed.
  • Deliver and ensure quality standards are upheld, delivering artifacts in alignment with the project management process and adhering to audit compliance.
  • Collect lessons learned and create a closure report to further improve future projects.
Qualifications
  • University degree or college diploma in Business / Computer Science / IT or a related field of study.
  • Project Management Professional certification (PMI or similar) preferred.
  • 8+ years of direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process / SDLC and execution.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software, such as Microsoft Project, Planner or equivalent tools.
  • Strong familiarity with application design, database concepts, SDLC and business process modelling.
  • Competent and proficient understanding of platforms such as Oracle DB, MS SQL Server, SharePoint and other industry leading tools.
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure components such as networks, servers and security is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ERP and Reporting systems, such as JD Edwards, Yardi and Hyperion would be an asset.
  • Experience working independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
