JOB SUMMARY:
Lantic is currently recruiting for the position of Human Resources Manager based at our Vancouver Refinery and reporting to the Corporate Director, Human Resources. The incumbent plays a pivotal role in the refinery by fostering employee engagement and cultivating strong professional relationships across the organization. This position is responsible for the strategic administration and continuous enhancement of human resources policies, procedures, and programs, and provides expert advisory support to management and employees across both salaried and unionized groups. This role collaborates with Managers and Supervisors to provide labour relations guidance, supports and engages hourly employees, promotes positive employee relations across all employee groups, leads recruitment and onboarding activities, and works closely with all departments of the refinery to foster a strong and engaged workforce.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide positive influential leadership, direction and expertise on the full scope of Human Resources functions;
- Handle union correspondence and collective agreement matters with a balanced perspective of the interest of the company and its employees;
- Manage full cycle of the recruitment process of salaried and hourly employees in various departments of the Company;
- Support collective bargaining process and grievance administration;
- Administer the Collective Agreement;
- C ollaborate and work proactively with the Management team on a wide range of human resources issues including: employee relations, employee retention and engagement, conflict resolution, performance management, training and development, and policies and procedures;
- Coach and advise management and team members through complex employee/labour relations issues and procedural inquiries;
- Manage and coordinate the Disability Management Program in collaboration with the Safety Coordinator;
- Collaborate with Lantic’s HR team on new initiatives and leverage team expertise;
- Ensure compliance of Employment Law and Human Rights Legislations and actively participate in necessary committee.
QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- P ost-secondary education in human resources management;
- CPHR (an asset);
- Minimum five (5) to eight (8) years of professional level human resources experience;
- Exceptional people skills and passion for working with people;
- Experience working with a unionized workforce and labour relations experience;
- Demonstrate positive and strong leadership skills in living and promoting Lantic’s Mission and Values;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Team player and high sense of responsibility;
- Ability to focus on employee development and performance management of employees;
- Result and detail oriented;
- Experience in other computer software systems such as Dayforce, KRONOS, Navision, and Sharepoint (an asset);
