About the position

Location: Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada (Onsite)

Work arrangement: Onsite, 5 days per week

Reports To: Director, Domestic Recruitment

Reason for vacancy: New Position

Expected hiring salary range: $80,000 to $90,000 annually. Offered salary will be determined through an internal review process.

Position Overview

The Domestic Student Recruitment Manager plays a key leadership role in advancing UNF’s domestic enrollment goals by building awareness, driving inquiries, and converting applications to enrolments across Canada. This position leads a small, high-impact recruitment team, oversees on- and off-campus events, and cultivates strong relationships with key influencers—including school counsellors, HR professionals, community organizations, parents, and students.

Reporting to the Director, Domestic Recruitment, the Manager ensures professional execution of recruitment activities, ethical and student-centred advising, and data-informed strategies that strengthen UNF’s presence and competitiveness in the domestic market.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and schedule two Student Recruitment Advisors to deliver against enrollment targets.
  • Plan, host, and oversee on-campus, off-campus, and virtual recruitment events, ensuring seamless execution and effective follow-up.
  • Uphold UNF’s values by providing ethical, student-first guidance from first inquiry through enrollment.

Recruitment & Advising

  • Engage and advise prospective domestic students (and international students residing in Canada) throughout the application cycle.
  • Train and support influencers—including counsellors, HR professionals, and community partners—to accurately represent UNF programs and pathways.

Business Development & Partnerships

  • Identify, pursue, and cultivate new markets and partnership opportunities while maintaining and expanding existing relationships.
  • Represent UNF at school visits, fairs, conferences, and partner meetings locally and nationally.

Communications & Stakeholder Management

  • Provide accurate and timely updates on admission requirements, program offerings, deadlines, and compliance topics.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations tailored to students, partners, and internal stakeholders.

Analysis, Reporting & Data

  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity; recommend actionable strategies for growth and conversion optimization.
  • Produce regular performance reports for leadership and ensure responsible budget management in line with university guidelines.
Position Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Proven success in consultative sales or recruitment with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Demonstrated leadership or team management experience (direct people leadership or project leadership).
  • Knowledge of the Canadian postsecondary system and recruitment channels.
  • Experience working in higher education is considered an asset.

Competencies

  • Strong client relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written, oral, and presentation), with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical, organized, and detail-oriented, with comfort in data-informed decision-making.
  • Intercultural competence and the ability to work effectively in diverse environments.
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution of recruitment activities.
  • Experience in international student recruitment (within Canada).
  • Fluency or advanced proficiency in French is desired.
  • Frequent travel across Canada as required.
  • Valid Ontario G driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to travel across Canada without restrictions; valid passport is an asset.
