A leading retailer in Mississauga is seeking a Pricing Strategy Manager to support revenue growth through pricing and promotional strategies. The successful candidate will analyze market trends, optimize pricing, and publish performance metrics, collaborating with various teams to enhance business tools. A Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience are essential, alongside strong analytical and communication skills. Compensation ranges from $91,900 to $126,390 based on experience.
Reporting to the Director, Price Strategy and Analytics, this role supports merchandising with the development of pricing strategies from revenue growth modelling to vendor negotiations. The Manager will conduct category revenue growth management initiatives across pricing, promotions, trade investment, and channel strategy for strategic businesses across Walmart. The Manager drives profitable growth through the EDLP Category Conversion program for Walmart Canada.
Price Strategy: Develop and implement pricing and promotional strategies using revenue growth modelling techniques, across categories that are in line with the company's goals and customer expectations.
Pricing Intelligence: Analyze market trends, customer behaviour, and competitive pricing to identify growth opportunities that formulate scenarios for price optimization analysis.
Price Optimization: Drive price leadership by continuously ensuring analytic frameworks, models, and processes are best‑in‑class across the competitive landscape. Continuously calibrate standards and guardrails to ensure our pricing standards drive merchandising strategic objectives. This includes but is not limited to analytic models used to define and calibrate item segmentations and pricing and promotional guardrails.
Performance Reporting: Control and publish pricing and promotional metrics, scorecards, and competitive insights to the organization that monitor and measure pricing strategies to targets. Prepare detailed reports on pricing strategies and their impact, and present these to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Leveraging web analytics tools: Generate insights into customer behaviour and business performance. The Manager may identify gaps in reporting infrastructure, implement best practices, and introduce automation. Training and supporting other departments in self‑service reporting and maintaining vendor relationships for analytics tools are also key responsibilities.
Cross Functional Collaboration: Inform Product Strategy and Data Science team product roadmap and backlog feature enhancement requirements for ongoing business needs. Participate in UAT testing for pricing tools and feature enhancements before deploying to broader business stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree
5 years related experience
Retail, CPG, Revenue Management experience desired
Strong analytical & communication skills with ability to synthesize data into clear insights to drive action
Strong influencing skills
Must be proficient in Excel
Pay range for this position is $91,900.00 - $126,390.00. Pay will be determined based on relevant experience.
