$125,500 - $154,000 CAD (temporary market premium reassessed annually)

Job Description

As a member of Layer 6’s Strategy & Operations team, you will work with leadership, team leads and members, and other stakeholders to develop and support talent management strategies and activities, and operationalise workforce management‑related tools, processes and reporting.

  • Identify and manage Layer 6 hiring needs, and engage with recruiters and leads to track and report on progress in filling the roles
  • Plan, forecast and regularly reconcile Layer 6’s jurisdictional headcount numbers against approved resource targets, and provide regular views to leadership
  • Manage resource role profiles with skillsets and preferences to align with assignment opportunities
  • Identify upcoming use cases or applied research initiatives that will require immediate vs. more distant resource assignments
  • Ensure leads are centrally forecasting resource allocations, and identify related risks/issues such as prolonged unfavorable allocation percentages or resource gaps that leave assignments unfulfilled or delayed
  • Establish and oversee resource forecasting and time‑tracking in Clarity to support resource cost tracking per use case or initiative
  • Lead or facilitate employee engagement and development activities and events
  • Serve as Layer 6's Rewards & Recognition (R&R) ambassador, facilitating rewards presentations and working with the AI2 R&R Committee on higher‑level awards
  • Lead activities to fulfil and manage resource‑related governance and administrative requirements (e.g., in support of Business Continuity Planning)
  • Support ad hoc or other operational business management activities and special projects as required
Qualifications
  • Experience working in a large matrix organisation
  • Experience planning and facilitating workforce management activities for a large organisation
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of AI/ML delivery processes
  • Experience leading and driving delivery of medium‑sized business/technology projects and governance initiatives using waterfall and agile methodologies, with thorough knowledge of project delivery principles, practices, techniques and tools (Jira, Clarity) – 5+ years
  • Business analysis experience (requirements solicitation, process modelling, policy/procedural documentation, cost and value estimation/assessment, etc.) – 5+ years
  • A self‑starter eager to take on different types of assignments, comfortable with ambiguity and possessing a problem‑solving mindset
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire a team, maximise contributions and communicate effectively and confidently
  • Strong collaboration skills to uncover stakeholder needs and motivations, influence and secure cooperation of key resources and resolve conflicts
  • Adaptable to a variety of situations, individuals or groups, understanding and appreciating different perspectives
  • Ability to understand and learn the dynamics of relationships in an organisation to identify decision makers and influencers, and predict how new events or situations will affect the organisation
  • Resilient under pressure and tight timelines
  • Working knowledge of productivity and BI tools (MS Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio; Tableau)
  • Experience in the Financial Services sector is an asset
  • Experience working for a consultancy is an asset
  • Relevant university degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of work experience
