Manager, Accounting Reporting & Budgeting - Finance - 1 position

Full Time
Salary Range: $63.76 - $75.00 /hour

Responsibilities
  • Oversee accounting, reporting, and budgeting for research activities, ensuring compliance with funder requirements and internal policies.
  • Oversee grant financial management, including preparation of funder reports and audits.
  • Prepare required internal financial reports and statements, including external financial statements, reports required by funders and internal reporting for leaders, the Senior Leadership Team, and the Board of Directors.
  • Oversee and support the full preparation of annual operating budgets.
  • Oversee and support peer benchmarking activities to compare financial performance and practices with similar organizations, providing insights for continuous improvement.
  • Partner with auditors to ensure effective execution of external audit processes and robust internal controls.
  • Support modeling for new research initiatives and hospital programs.
  • Identify and implement relevant accounting pronouncements within Public Sector Accounting Standards and CPA Handbook Part III Section 4200.
  • Participate in internal committees overseeing strategic projects.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, visionary leadership, exceptional people management skills, strong problem solving, and change management expertise.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management/reporting and demonstrated team leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards including Public Sector Accounting Standards and CPA Handbook Part III.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills; highly developed critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing demands and meet challenging timelines.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting leadership teams in understanding financial results and developing operating budgets.
  • Knowledge of OHSA and ability to act as a supervisor under OHSA.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a health care or research environment in Ontario.
  • Experience with Oracle Financial applications (General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Project Costing).
  • Proficiency in French is an asset.

Immunization Requirements
