Maintenance Technician

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Works Closely With: Maintenance, Production, Sanitation

Job Status: Full Time, Salary, Permanent

Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm (subject to change on occasion to accommodate weekend business level)

Compensation: $50,000-$55,000 per year (dependant on experience)

The Position

As a Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for assisting with the proper functioning and upkeep of the maintenance and facilities of the building systems and supporting the Maintenance & Facilities Manager. Your role includes the conducting of routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and performing repairs to minimize downtime and optimize operational efficiency. This position requires a strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities & Maintenance Support Responsibilities
  • Track and execute maintenance work orders as and when they come up with the help of the Maintenance Manager.
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager in managing long term facility and equipment projects
  • Learn, maintain, and troubleshoot building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC-R, apertures)
  • Learn, maintain, and troubleshoot the building envelope
  • Learn, maintain, and troubleshoot production equipment and infrastructure
  • Periodic yard maintenance and tractor duties
  • After hours support responsibilities
  • Contractor relations, supervision and policy enforcement
  • LOTO Owner/trainer
  • Snow removal
Required Education & Experience
  • Excellent physical condition: able to lift heavy loads (20-50 lbs) up and down stairs
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Very reliable
  • Sound judgment
  • Able to maintain a positive attitude when dealing with obstacles
  • Interested in healthy eating and living
