We are recruiting an experienced Maintenance Technical Lead to join our team supporting our client in the automotive industry.
NOTE:
- Onsite
- Must be willing and able to travel domestically and to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date
- Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, coordinate, prioritize, assign, supervise, implement and review maintenance and repair activities to automotive testing equipment, facility equipment and buildings in support of ongoing operations
- Oversee and direct the activities of a small multi-trade maintenance crew to complete required tasks in a safe and timely manner
- Comply with the collective bargaining agreement, Canadian Electrical Code, TSSA, corporate policies and other applicable regulations in the organization and execution of maintenance activities
- Develop maintenance strategies, and programs and make improvements to existing policies
- Troubleshoot automated testing system issues and determine corrective actions.
- Manage all aspects of environmental health and safety conformance for the skilled trades
- Oversee a preventative maintenance program for automotive testing and facility equipment
- Develop maintenance strategies, programs and make improvements to existing policies
- Point of contact for janitorial services contract
- Perform environmental inspections and coordinate waste pickups
- Procure parts, material and rentals required to complete maintenance tasks
- Prioritize tasks based on urgency and workforce availability
- Track data for performance measurable such as Preventative Maintenance task completion, overtime, equipment uptime, etc.
- Maintain accurate hourly timekeeping records, ,vacation and time off requests
- Maintain good supplier/customer relations with internal customers and outside suppliers
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of materials and equipment
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certificate of Qualification as an electrician or an electrical engineering technologist (or equivalent)
- 5-10 years of troubleshooting automated equipment with preference to automotive assembly or automotive component testing would be a benefit
- Experience in a unionized labour environment
- Willingness to accept a wide variety of assignments
- Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, OH&SA Regulations relating to industrial maintenance activities
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software, ability to learn and operate other computer-based and web-based programs
- Strong project management, organizational, teamwork, written and verbal communication skills
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Willing to work weekends and or off shifts as required
