Overview

CMP is a global manufacturing company with 6 manufacturing and distribution facilities throughout Canada, the United States, Italy, Australia, and China. CMP supplies the recreational and commercial marine industries with a broad range of products for various industry segments, including anchoring & ground tackle, corrosion, dock & boat accessories, and steering & controls. CMP manufactures and distributes products under the brands, Martyr, Rocna, Vulcan, Titan, Panther, Dock Edge, Octopus, Intellisteer, Sanitation Equipment and, Trollmaster. We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join the team in our Delta, BC location.

Responsibilities

Production:

  • Reading diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Installing stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools
  • Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions
  • Adjusting machinery and repairing or replacing defective parts
  • Operating machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
  • Ensuring operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installations
  • Participating in the PM program on all equipment for continuous improvement of all machines
  • Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
  • Cleaning, lubricating and performing other routine maintenance work on machinery
  • Adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
  • Maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work area
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

  • Promote safe work practices as outlined in BC’s Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Strive for Zero-time lost accidents
  • Adhere to all company safety SOP and equipment safety features

Requirements:

  • 3+ years relevant work experience; Red seal/apprentice experience is a definite asset but not required
  • 3+ years of experience or understanding of electrical/electronic troubleshooting including work with hydraulic and electrical systems
  • 3+ years of experience with Mig welding. Tig an asset
  • 3+ years of experience or working knowledge of safety standards of equipment
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Tools supplied
  • Flexible to accommodate shift changes based on work exigencies
  • Comfortable working independently without supervision and meet tight deadlines and also in a team environment
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills allowing one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
Hours
  • 6:00 am – 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday
  • Possible shifts in the future: 8am to 4:30pm or 2:15pm to 10:45pm

  • Pay rate is $ 37.37, 39.33 and 41.57 per hour based on experience
