Qualifications

The team works with both traditional and emerging technologies to deliver innovative solutions for business applications and platforms.

Our team contributes to the overall success of the Day to Day Savings products in Canada, supporting the Business, Canadian Banking Regulatory and Compliance initiatives, performing development, design and deployment.

The Mainframe COBOL Developer, reporting to the Senior Manager Development, will lead various development projects and support application solutions for the Canadian business line. They will collaborate with multiple teams to deliver requirements for regulatory and compliance platforms. Ideal candidates should be proactive, creative, show initiative, eager to learn, and thrive on challenges

  • Act as an expert technical resource for problem analysis and solution implementation, supporting applications, and working within the Bank's architectural guidelines

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
  • 5+ years of experience in mainframe development using Cobol, JCL, IMS DB/DC, DB2, VSAM, CICS, CA7, SAS, SDSF.
  • 2+ Working experience and knowledge of Assembler programming language.
  • Experience with security and environment control systems (Endevor, ACF2), problem analysis (Fault Analyzer), database management (IMS, DB2, VSAM).
  • Strong knowledge of DB2 database, z/OS Debugger, DFSORT, JCL, and COBOL.
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or technical equivalent.
  • ITIL certification is an asset
  • Experience and knowledge of DevOps.
  • Prior experience in production support.
  • Fluent in English, oral and written.
  • Understanding of current IT practices and systems development techniques.
  • Familiarity with data integration and data streaming, WebSphere MQ, and communication networks.
  • Experience working in an agile environment an asset.
  • Familiarity with event-driven programming concepts an asset.
  • Exposure to data modeling and data architecture an asset.
  • Experience in utilities and productivity tools (e.g., MVS/TSO, ACR, COMPAREX, SYNCSORT, IDCAMS, CRF, File Manager, etc.) an asset.
  • Understanding of file transfer protocols and processes (FTP, SFTP, PGP Encryption) an asset.
  • Experience with UNIX RHEL 8.x an asset.
