Job description

Where: 205 Cartesian Gate, Winnipeg, ManitobaR2P 1W4
We are seeking 4 long haul truck drivers. Start date as soon as possible.
Salary $30.25 / hour or 48 cents per mile, whichever is more. Full time: 40-50 hours per week.

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience not required but is an asset
  • Class 1/1F/A Driver’s Licence (semi trailer trucks), Air Brakes Endorsement
  • Driver's validity licence check, Driving record check (abstract)
  • Must be willing and able to drive manual transmission vehicle, maintain valid driver’s licence, travel overnight;
  • Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment, Trip recorder (on-board computer); and
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.

Must also be able to complete:

  • Trans-border documentation
  • Driver logbook
  • Trip reports
  • Accident or incident reports
  • Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
