The primary care clinic located within Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital is a well-established facility supported by a collaborative healthcare team. The clinic is currently staffed by four dedicated physicians, a family practice nurse, and a team of experienced clerical staff. Together, they provide comprehensive primary care services to the surrounding community, with a focus on continuity of care and patient-centered practice. In addition to clinic work, there are also opportunities to be involved in inpatient care, long-term care (LTC), and the hospital’s Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), offering physicians a diverse and engaging scope of practice. The clinic benefits from its location within the hospital, allowing for close integration with additional medical services and supports.

Job Description

The practice is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage during a period of active recruitment beginning July 1st, 2025.

Locum physicians provide coverage for family practices, including inpatient and nursing home care, as well as specialist hospital and office coverage as requested. Compensation includes a minimum daily income guarantee of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 for half-day), with additional earnings if shadow billings exceed this amount. Travel expenses, including kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), are reimbursed, along with travel time up to 10 hours per week. Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered, and locum physicians may claim Facility On Call fees under specific conditions.
