Job Title: Technical Services Technician I

The Lifecycle Technical Services Technician I is an entry-level role focused on supporting the startup, commissioning, and maintenance of low voltage and light electrical water treatment systems, such as EPRO, media filtration and exchange systems. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to launch a career in water treatment technology, emphasizing foundational technical skills, customer engagement, and professional growth under the mentorship of experienced technicians. Light electrical experience is required, making this an ideal role for motivated individuals eager to contribute to sustainable water solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Provide startup, commissioning, and customer training for low voltage and light electrical water treatment systems, ensuring seamless system integration.
  • Perform remote and onsite troubleshooting, including after-hours support, for assigned systems to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Support retrofits and service contracts of various water treatment systems under the guidance of senior technicians, both remote and onsite.
  • Participate in handoff meetings with senior technicians to communicate prerequisites for site readiness, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Use CRM and SharePoint tools to track root cause analysis and document service activities accurately, fostering transparency and continuous improvement.
  • Provide routine maintenance, inspections, and cleaning of assigned systems to uphold performance standards.
  • Engage with customers professionally during onsite visits, building trust and ensuring clear communication to enhance satisfaction.
  • Monitor basic operational parameters of treatment systems and report findings to supervisors to support system optimization.
  • Adhere strictly to Newterra and customer safety policies during all field operations, prioritizing a safe work environment.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and timely service records and images in SharePoint to support operational excellence.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance personal technical skills and actively seek mentorship to grow within the role.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment, fostering a culture of teamwork.
  • Responsible for performing duties in a safe manner and promoting safety in accordance with Newterra’s safety policies and procedures.
  • Complies with Quality Management Systems in accordance to Newterra’s internal quality standards.
  • Complete all responsibilities while ensuring adherence to Newterra’s Delegation of Authority.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in a related field is a plus.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a technical or mechanical field (low voltage and light electrical experience required).
  • Basic understanding of water treatment systems or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to travel.
  • Basic record-keeping skills and familiarity with digital tools (e.g., CRM and SharePoint systems).

Physical Demands

Must be able to use both hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls, stand for long periods of time and repeat the same motions. Must also be able to push, pull and maneuver up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Frequently work outdoors. This is a manufacturing environment and will be exposed to elements such as loud noise, hazardous equipment, heat, dirt, dust, fumes, and other hazardous materials. Often wear PPE, such as safety goggles, masks, or ear plugs. Frequently exposed to distracting and uncomfortable noise levels from machinery. May be exposed to hazardous situations when working with large metal parts and cutting tools. Company safety standards must be always followed.
