Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at Fort St. John Hospital and Health Centre.
Responsibilities
- Work within an interdisciplinary clinical framework in accordance with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) Standards of Practice for a Licensed Practical Nurse and the mission, vision and values and established protocols of Northern Health.
- Collaborate with the care team in direct care activities such as assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating interventions, and coordinating health services for Emergency Department patients.
- Participate in discharge and/or care planning, act as a patient advocate, and teach patients and their families about illness/injury and health promotion and wellness.
- Enhance quality of life from the perspective of the patient/family; establish, maintain, and enhance therapeutic relationships; provide care across the lifespan within a team-based model.
- Recognize and respond to unexpected patient outcomes by communicating and collaborating with other members of the healthcare team.
- Document care provided and response to incidents in accordance with established policies, procedures, and Emergency Department expectations; consult, confer, and collaborate with other health care providers as needed.
About Fort St. John Hospital and Health Centre
Fort St. John Hospital and Health Centre has 44 Acute Care beds and 124 residential beds and is equipped to handle 22,000 ER visits per year. Highlights include:
- Endoscopy suite, 2 state-of-the-art operating rooms, plus a procedure room
- Ambulatory clinics including Cancer and Hemodialysis
- Medical and Surgical inpatient rooms (40 beds)
- 3 Intensive care units
- Minor surgeries
- 7 single Maternity rooms for Labour, Delivery, and Post-Partum
Fort St. John also has the Health Unit and Primary Care Clinic which serve the community.
